Schellinger Construction (on behalf of MDT) - Karrow to Mountainside

Challenge: In July 2014, Schellinger embarked on the second phase of the Highway 93 reconstruction west of Whitefish. The urgently needed highway improvement project, while ultimately beneficial to the community, creates significant inconvenience, to Whitefish residents and businesses.

Resolution: To mitigate frustrations for residents, Big Sky Public Relations was contracted to manage a full-scale public awareness campaign. In accordance with MDT requirements, Big Sky Public Relations built a campaign that effectively connected with the local community. The campaign included direct, in-person contact with adjacent neighbors prior to closures or outages, management of public meetings, securing positive media coverage, connecting with city leaders and effective complaint resolution. Over the course of a year, the campaign helped foster a positive perception of the Karrow to Mountainside reconstruction and its managing entities.
